After
the game against Sunderland and knowing the final result of the match
Manchester City, Van Gaal said that, of course, it's nice to see the team is in
the top of the Premier League standings. This is for the first time he experienced
it, of course he was very happy.
Since
taking over as manager at the start of the 2014-15 seasons, only this time Van
Gaal delivers the Red Devils to the top of the standings. Last season, the
highest position ever achieved troops Van Gaal was ranked third.
About
the winning of his team, Van Gaal admitted had trouble with the style of play
Sunderland that focused to survive and rely on counter attacks. Dutch manager
said that his team should always be alert. Fortunately, the defenders of MU
looked good on that day.
Manchester
United's first goal was scored by Memphis Depay at the end of the first half,
exactly in the 4th minute of extra time.
Van
Gaal said that he was pleased with the goal because it seems to 'punish' the
opponent. Sunderland has been always a waste of time, but the referee did not
react.
According
to Van Gaal, the goal that was scored becomes a positive influence in a match.
Since then, he has changed the style of play Manchester United in the second
round. Nevertheless, he still saw Sunderland could not penetrate the defense
his team.
